Mojang Announces the End of its Card Battle Game, Offers one more Year of Playtime


Mojang means Minecraft. The Microsoft-owned developer also works on other projects. strongcraft Scrolls was an online battle video game based on cards. game that’s available on PC, Mac, and tablets. The game has reached the end of its life, with the developer announcing that it will cease development on the game. The announcement doesn’t give an explanation for the sudden end however, we’ve contacted the developer to find out if there was any particular reason — the developer has claimed a legal victory over Bethesda in being able name the game “Scrolls” in the first place, but was prohibited from naming sequels similar to the original. Mojang promises to keep the servers running for another year, which means that’s twelve more months to tackle the latest update and levels, which were released only this month.



Update An Mojang spokesperson has told us: “The launch of the “Scrolls” beta was huge success. Tens of thousands of players fought daily and many of them remain active today. The game is no longer able to continue to grow in a continuous manner.
